The art fair, Brecha, which brings together students and collectives from the IAD/UFJF, is an opportunity for new artists to exhibit their work, such as photographs, engravings, cyanotypes, drawings, paintings, and other productions.

The Mamm promotes two workshops during the program. Activity integrated into the exhibition “Landscape: rough skin”, which is on display in the Retratos-Relâmpago gallery, the cyanotype workshop led by Julia Ciampi and Tiago Lima addresses one of the techniques present in the exhibition. During the meeting, the artists will share aspects of their research and guide the participants in experimenting with this printing process that uses light to fix shapes on the surface.

Promoting inclusion and respect for communication diversity, the museum also offers a LIBRAS workshop, led by Miriely Ferreira, a student of the Licenciatura in Letters-LIBRAS course, who was a scholarship recipient of the "Mamm in LIBRAS - Murilo Mendes Collection Accessibility" extension project. The activity is introductory in nature and reinforces the Mamm's commitment to accessibility.

Registration for the workshops will be announced through themuseum's Instagram (@mamm.ufjf)The spots are limited and participation is free.

Doors open

During the 20th Museum Spring, the class of the "Topics in Art II: Introduction to Research in the Mamm Collection" course, taught by professors Renata Zago, Raquel Quinet Pífano, and Amanda Mazzoni and held at the museum, will be open to the public. The event takes place on Wednesday, September 23, from 9am to 12pm.

Reiterating the potential of the university museum as a space for training and research, the meeting will be led by collaborating professor Carmem Mattos, a doctoral student in the Arts, Culture, and Languages Postgraduate Program at UFJF, and responsible for the Mamm's Educational Action Division, who will address the research conducted by the division's team. Brazilian productions for all audiences

The Mamm, in partnership with Cineclube Movimento, hosts the launch of "Nas entranhas de Bob Cuspe," a reportage book written by journalist Ramon Vitral. The publication narrates the production process of the film "Bob Cuspe: Nós Não Gostamos de Gente," which will also be screened at the event on Saturday, September 26, starting at 2:30 PM.

Directed by filmmaker Cesar Cabral, the stop motion animation is inspired by the comic strips of cartoonist Angeli. The book was published by Ugra Press and made possible through incentives from the Aldir Blanc National Culture Fostering Policy and the Cultural Action Program of the State Government of São Paulo.

The museum also hosts the "Kids – Cine Aventuras" exhibition, organized by the Observatory of Quality in Audiovisual and the Laboratory of Photography, History and Style. This initiative is dedicated to promoting high-quality audiovisual content aimed at children and adolescents, creating spaces for the juvenile audience to watch, discuss, and evaluate works created using different languages, themes, and cultural contexts.

The "Cine Aventuras" session, which takes place on Friday, September 25, at 2:00 PM, lasts approximately 48 minutes and features five Brazilian productions: "Eu e o Boi, o Boi e Eu" (2024); "Memórias de Infância" (2023); "Medo de Cachorro" (2025); "Quando as ondas do mar desligam" (2025); and "Kika não foi convidada" (2025). Following the screening, a moderated discussion with the audience will take place, and at the end, a vote will be held to choose the favorite film from the session, with the results being sent to the organizers of the "Kids – Cine Aventuras" exhibition.

Connecting new artists to the community

Following the success of the previous edition, held during the 24th National Museums Week, Brecha returns to the Mamm and the Memorial of the Republic President Itamar Franco. Bringing together students and groups from the Institute of Arts and Design at UFJF, the art fair provides an opportunity for new artists to exhibit their work, including photographs, engravings, cyanotypes, drawings, paintings, and other productions. The third edition of Brecha takes place on Saturday, September 26, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in the museum parking lot.
