Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants and guests of a media forum devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies.
The message reads, in part:
“Established in 1961 at the initiative of the United Nations and UNESCO, the Organisation makes a significant contribution to the development of journalism and the media. It is rightly regarded as one of the largest and most influential regional media associations, representing the interests of 40 news agencies from 33 countries. Importantly, OANA’s general assemblies, forums and other events have become recognised platforms for expert discussions on key trends in today’s media, as well as for sharing experience and creative ideas.
I am confident that the meeting in Moscow will uphold these fine traditions, strengthen professional and personal ties, and help unite the media community around the principles of high-quality, objective and professional journalism.”
