Study recognizes Anderson Soares and Arlindo Galvão among the top 30 most influential voices in the field

Two professors from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) are among the top 30 most influential professionals in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Brazil, according to the studyPulse 2026/2027 – Digital Influence and LeadershipAnderson Soares and Arlindo Galvão are faculty members of the Institute of Informatics (INF) of UFG and work at the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (Ceia).
In the survey conducted by Deck and Nexus, data was collected from March to June, and the 21 most strategic sectors of the Brazilian GDP were mapped. More than 2,000 profiles discussing topics from agribusiness to artificial intelligence were analyzed, with a focus on the 30 most influential voices in each sector.
The methodology involved a research using tools, based on the analysis of the digital presence of the profiles, a mapping conducted by Deck using artificial intelligence models, and a final consolidation of the results, focusing on the qualitative potential of reputation, rather than numerical rankings of popularity.
The names of the professors appear in the Artificial Intelligence category as leading experts. Anderson is defined as "a strategic bridge between academia and the private sector." The professor received a score of five in the categories of affinity, influence, and reputation.
The distinction awarded by the research highlights a shift in the decentralization of technology development focused on artificial intelligence. For Anderson, the University and the state of Goiás act as catalysts for encouraging these areas and contribute to strengthening the region's image as a research hub. "It creates an intangible perception of being seen as something so sophisticated and advanced [like the Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo axis]."
The state of Goiás has been consolidating itself as a hub for artificial intelligence studies for several years, with UFG being the first university in Latin America to implement a degree program in Artificial Intelligence. The researcher highlights that the University's pioneering role in this innovation is essential for generating significant impacts.
Professor Arlindo Galvão has been identified as an "institutional bridge for the innovation and applied research ecosystem." The professor achieved the highest score in the area of affinity and a score of four in influence and reputation.
