The improvement notice for South Tyneside’s Children’s Services was lifted following a report by Ofsted published on 4 August 2026.

This improvement notice requires South Tyneside Council to take steps to improve its children’s social care services.

It follows a report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of children’s social care services provided by South Tyneside Council as inadequate.
