The evaluation will only be valid for students who enter the course after the publication of the MP. Disqualified candidates will be able to retake the exam in subsequent editions, scheduled to occur semiannually.
The new requirement adds to the current role of the Enamed in evaluating students and medical courses. The exam has been applied since 2025 to students in the sixth year.
According to the federal government, the measure aims to prevent unqualified professionals from entering the job market.
Processing
Although it comes into effect immediately, the provisional measure must be converted into law by the National Congress within 120 days to continue to be effective.
