The Judicial Police, through the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Directorate, detained a man suspected of committing 85 sexual offenses against a minor, which occurred over a period of more than a year, during which the victim was aged between 14 and 15.
The suspect, indicted for the crimes of sexual abuse of a dependent minor or in a particularly vulnerable situation and aggravated rape, is a friend of the father of the teenager, with whom he maintained a close and trusting relationship, even residing in the family home.
The incidents are believed to have taken place both at the minor's residence in Lisbon and at the suspect's home in Loures.
The situation came to the attention of authorities following a request for help from the victim, who reported the facts.
Following the report, the Judicial Police conducted investigation efforts that allowed them to gather, in a few hours, relevant forensic elements to clarify the facts and detain the author.
The detained 49-year-old man was presented for his first judicial interrogation at the Lisbon Court, and the measure of coercive preventive detention was applied to him.
