The United Nations’ financial crisis is undermining its ability to protect victims of human rights violations and prevent torture, the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) heard today, as experts warned that cancelled meetings, reduced country visits and shrinking resources are leaving vulnerable people without vital safeguards.
