The Colorado's mission in Mirassol (SP) became more difficult than it already was in the 14th minute of the game. Goalkeeper Matheus Cunha left the area to try to get ahead of forward Bruno Santos, but he was late and brought down the opponent, receiving a straight red card.
Mirassol took time to make the most of their numerical advantage. The best chance of the first half was with Eduardo, on the rebound of a free-kick by Reinaldo, which goalkeeper Kauan Jesus - who came on field due to Matheus Cunha's expulsion - saved. The midfielder hit the crossbar.
However, at the start of the second half, Eduardo had better luck. Two minutes in, the midfielder took advantage of the cross from forward Edson Carioca from the right and shot into the corner of Kauan Jesus's net.
Even with a man down, Inter tried to mount a reaction and pressed the hosts. At 31 minutes, center-back Bruno Gomes hit the crossbar. At 37 and 38 minutes, striker João Bezerra had two great chances, stopping at goalkeeper Walter and then defender João Victor, who saved on the line.
On the counter-attack, Mirassol sealed the match. At 41 minutes, Fernandinho set up fellow striker André Luis, who shot past Kauan Jesus to secure the three points for the interior team.
In stoppage time, Reinaldo could have extended the lead but hit the post with his penalty. It ended up not being a foul.
