Recurring news, unfortunately: The Cost of Living Index (ICV) in Florianópolis accumulated a 5.17% increase in the first nine months of 2026, maintaining the city of Santa Catarina as the leader among Brazilian capitals researched by the State University (Udesc). Specifically, in September, Florianópolis recorded a 0.74% increase in the cost of living. Among the main increases, the prices of products from the subgroup of tubers, roots and vegetables rose by 40.49%. For example, tomatoes increased by 56.50%, followed by English potatoes, with an increase of 38.85%, and onions, which became 31.38% more expensive.
