Sonnenflux (F10.7 cm, also die Helligkeit der Sonne bei Radiowellen von 10,7 cm Wellenlänge, gemessen in SFU — Solar Flux Unit, Einheit des Sonnenflusses): hoch bedeutet aktive Sonne.

Polarlicht nur sichtbar bei Kp (planetarer K-Index) ≥ 5, in hohen nördlichen Breiten (Island, Nordnorwegen, Alaska) oder südlichen (Patagonien, Antarktis).
