The measure is valid for one month, is fiscally neutral, and aims to contain high prices due to international oil volatility.

The Federal Government will determine on Tuesday, October 27th, the renewal of the subsidy for road diesel, amounting to R$ 2.12 per liter of fuel.
The action follows measures taken since the start of the war in the Middle East and aims to reduce the impact of international fuel price volatility on the Brazilian market.
The subsidy will be valid for one month, after which it can be renewed, always taking into account the international fuel market. The fiscal impact is the same as the current subsidy, maintaining fiscal neutrality.
The initiative is backed by Provisional Measure 1.391 of September 11, 2026, which authorizes the granting of economic subsidies to diesel oil producers and importers to ensure regular fuel supply in the country amid a backdrop of geopolitical instability. The ANP will remain responsible for qualifying participants, monitoring prices, and paying the subsidy.
