A teacher is much more than a profession. It is a noble and responsible mission, a true vocation that requires wisdom, patience, constant attention to children and students, and the ability to reveal each child's and young person's abilities and best qualities.
Your heartfelt participation, experience, and sensitivity help students believe in themselves, and your advice, guidance, and support will continue to serve as a support in their adult life.
It is very important that young people, schoolchildren, and students, regardless of where they live, feel like they are part of a large, unified country, and that from childhood they learn to respect the diversity of cultures and the unique traditions of our multi-ethnic people, and to understand the strength and significance of the values that have united it for centuries.
This work of teachers should be ongoing, and especially now, during the Year of Unity of Peoples of Russia. It is common values and a shared vision of the future that have helped us to determine our own path and confidently move forward. We are proud of the legacy created by previous generations, proud of the achievements of our contemporaries, and we understand that the foundation of any success, victory, and achievement is the work of a teacher, everything that was laid in childhood and adolescence, in school years, and in student years.
I would like to remind you that from this year, the status of a teacher is enshrined at the state level. This reflects the high public recognition of the teacher's mission, guarantees necessary support, and provides new opportunities for professional growth and development.
Professional competitions play a major role. They not only help to support and recognize talented teachers, but also, which is very important, to spread interesting, effective, and innovative practices, which contribute to improving the quality of education in general.
We will definitely continue to update, which means making the school, college, and universities – in general, the entire education infrastructure – more comfortable for both students and teachers. At the same time, it is important to preserve and multiply the best traditions of the Russian pedagogical school, to ensure their continuity, and to harmoniously combine them with the most modern methods.
But whatever new technologies come into schools, I am sure, the main thing remains unchanged: the teacher's personality, our respect, and gratitude for your daily, full-fledged work. It is you who teach us to think, raise our character, and inspire us to do good deeds.
