The Prosecutor General and president of the National Group for Prevention and Combat of Violence in Stadiums (GNCOVE), Herbert Santos, participated, on Sunday morning (September 20th), in a technical visit by the International Football Federation (FIFA) to the Castelão Stadium in Fortaleza. The activity is part of another stage of preparation for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Promotor Renato Magalhães (coordinator of the Special Group for Public Safety - Gaesp) and Rodrigo Manso (member of the Nucleus for Sport and Defense of Fans - Nudetor) from the Public Ministry of Ceará (MPCE) were also present.
Fortaleza will be one of the eight host cities of the competition. This Sunday's visit is part of the penultimate round of technical inspections in the eight selected stadiums to host the tournament. During the activities, aspects such as the condition of the field, changing rooms, facilities for the press, and mobility and organization around the stadiums are evaluated.
In addition to representatives from the MPCE and FIFA, participants included those from the Ministries of Sport and Public Safety and Social Defense (SSPDS), the Federal Police, the Military Police, and the Municipal Traffic Authority (AMC).
The participation of the Public Ministry is part of the institutional action aimed at monitoring safety conditions and coordinating with the bodies involved in the organization of major sporting events, contributing to the integrated planning of the competition in Fortaleza.
