A ‘Women in Leadership’ panel was held at Mansion House on Friday 11 September, chaired by the Lady Mayor, Dame Susan Langley DBE, bringing together three pioneering leaders from the faith, public and judicial sectors.
The panel featured the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill; Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service, Dame Antonia Romeo DCB; and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally DBE.
Together, they represent the first women to hold some of the most senior offices in British public life.
Against a backdrop of continuing underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions, the discussion explored leadership, representation and institutional change.
Drawing on their experiences of reaching the highest levels of their professions, the panellists reflected on the opportunities and challenges of being among the first women to occupy these roles, and the responsibility of creating pathways for future generations.
