Vladimir Putin congratulated President-elect of South Ossetia Marat Kambolov on Republic Day.
The message reads, in part:

Relations between Russia and South Ossetia are developing successfully in the spirit of good-neighbourliness and alliance. Moscow and Tskhinval maintain productive cooperation across a wide range of areas and work together to strengthen regional security and stability. We will undoubtedly continue our close cooperation to further develop our multifaceted partnership.
I would also like to reaffirm that Russia will continue to provide comprehensive support to the authorities and people of South Ossetia in their efforts to strengthen statehood and promote socioeconomic development.
