An attempted murder motivated by family and financial disputes, and the subsequent murder of the same victim within her workplace, will be the focus of a trial that begins next Thursday, September 24th, in Tramandaí. Návia Regina Christan, a 46-year-old hairdresser, was killed in November 2018, and four individuals accused by the Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS) will be on trial for their involvement in the crime. The session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM and is expected to last two days, continuing on Friday, September 25th.
The public prosecutors André Tarouco, from Tramandaí, and Aline Baldissera, appointed by the Núcleo de Apoio ao Júri (NAJ) of the MPRS, will act in plenary to support the prosecution. According to them, the defendants participated in the planning, coordination, and hiring of the perpetrators of the homicide, as Návia was shot to death inside her own salon by a man who entered the establishment pretending to be a customer. The defendants will be tried for aggravated homicide, and according to the participation attributed to each of them, the MPRS argues that the aggravating factors of motive, reward promise, and impediment to the victim's defense apply. The crime originated from family conflicts and the belief of the involved parties that the hairdresser was causing financial damage to a relative.

UNDERSTAND THE CASE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
ATTEMPTED MURDER
On October 26, 2017, Navia Regina Christan was the victim of an attempted murder at home. She was shot with a firearm, survived the attack, but suffered permanent sequelae, such as the loss of vision in one eye. The investigation identified those involved in the organization and execution of the crime, who were later, in March of last year,convicted by the jury.
MURDER
On November 5, 2018, just over a year after the first attack, Návia was killed inside her beauty salon in Tramandaí. According to the MPRS indictment, the four accused (three of whom are the same as those already convicted in the attempted murder trial) will go to trial for participating in the planning and intermediation of the hiring of the perpetrators. Two men accused of being responsible for the murder have already been tried and convicted.
JURY DELAY
Initially scheduled for July of this year, the trial was rescheduled for September 24 and 25 after the defense of two accused requested the bifurcation of the case, alleging impossibility of acting by the lawyer due to health reasons. The request was denied by the court, which ruled that the conduct attributed to the defendants is linked and must be analyzed jointly by the jurors.
