Vladimir Putin congratulated the Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University on its 25th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The opening of a branch of one of Russia’s leading universities in Kazakhstan was a major milestone for our countries and a compelling testament to the deep-rooted traditions of friendship, neighbourliness and mutual understanding that we genuinely cherish.
In many ways, thanks to its talented and committed faculty members, their knowledge and experience, the university has come a long way over the years, strengthening its constructive potential. It is known for extensive research activities and modern study programmes and methodologies. That is why alumni of this branch successfully take up positions in government bodies, large corporations, key economic and social sectors, contributing to promising integration, humanitarian and cultural projects across Eurasia.
I must certainly praise the branch’s role in promoting the Russian language and literature in Kazakhstan, the development of Russian language studies, and the preservation of our shared historical memory.”
