US Congressmembers who formally questioned the White House about attempts to interfere in Brazilian elections received a response that, however, did not answer the question. The governmentDonald Trumpsimply stated that he supports the right of Brazilians to choose their president and that he will recognize the election results.

However, in the letter, the Trump administration defends the sanctions imposed on Supreme Federal Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes and the designation of the First Command of the Capital (PCC) and Red Command (CV) as terrorist organizations.

International analyst Amanda Harumy assesses that the White House's response to the Congresspeople's inquiries shows that interference has been taking place quietly, rather than through direct attacks as Trump has previously done. "There are indications that they conducted research in Brazil on the impact of direct interference and that this could stir up a nationalist sentiment that would benefit Lula," she points out in an interview withConnection BdF, fromRadio Brasil de Fato.

Harumy, however, emphasizes that, although discreet, there are no lack of indicationsFrom this interference,And one of them was that of theText: MetaEmployees admitted in internal messages that there were losses to Lula's campaign and favoritism towards Flávio, as the company officially spoke of "failures" but denied any intentionality. The interference is happening explicitly."Through political communication, algorithms, and Meta's influence in political disputes," he points out.

The analyst reinforces that Flávio is "a puppet of the US," so for Trump, his victory would be much more advantageous. "Flávio has said more than once that rare earths could be the solution to the US's technological and energy dispute with China. That's what is at stake in the Brazilian elections," she assesses.

Amanda Harumy believes Brazil has more conditions than other Latin American countries to defend itself from US interference in elections. "In Honduras, it took just a tweet from Trump to destabilize the country," she remembers. "Brazil's victory would mean the ability to resist this interference. It's a signal for the entire continent," she states.
